Brandy, Timbaland, Shock Value 2!

Word on the street is that Brandy will be features on Timbaland’s upcoming masterpiece “Shock Value 2”. She was in the studio with Timbaland this fall working on her 5th album “Human”.

She previewed a few of the Timbo tracks for her Stars at album listening parties around the US for months. BUT – when HUMAN dropped on Dec 9th the Timbo tracks were missing.

It would seem that the tracks have been saved for his album SHOCK VALUE.

One of the songs “Drum Life (feat. James Fauntleroy)” leaked in October 08.

Today though the brand new solo Brandy version came out today is said to be the first single from Shock Value 2.

ALSO, Brandy seems to be thinking about her 6ht album already! Check out this RapUP! interview.

Rap Up recently caught up with Brandy to talk about the creation of her album Human and working with Darkchild and Timbo. You’ll be interested in what she has to say:

On why Timbaland didn’t make the album
“One of the reasons why is because it’s hard to get Timbaland’s voice on records, and we really wanted his voice to be on the records. It’s not that they’re not good, it’s just that we couldn’t work it out where he could actually be on the album.”

On working with Timbo in the future
“I think I’m gonna work with Timbaland again heavy for my next album. He’s one of the most talented producers, I think, to ever exist. I would love to do an album with him and Rodney together, like they actually executive produce it together. That would be a dream of mine.”

And the current situation between Darkchild and Tim
“Timbaland is one of Rodney’s favorite producers and Rodney is one of Timbaland’s favorite producers.”

Mya – Sugar & Spice

I have just heard Mya’s new album “Sugar & Spice”. The album is set to be released exclusively in Japan. The first single “Paradise” left me a little bit worried that perhaps Mya would finally put out an album that I didn’t enjoy.

However, after hearing the entire album I’m excited to say that it’s worth ordering from Japan!

The album delivers several tracks that I consider Top 40 material. The album makes me want to dance. It’s as if Mya is channeling her inner Britney Spears. (I mean this in the best way possible)

Anyways, I thuroughly enjoyed it and I suggest downloading it from ITunes or ordering it from a store in Japan!.

Brandy performs Departed on Tyra Banks!

Brandy does a superb job of her first single “Right Here (Departed)”.  She performed this leading track from her new album Human live on Tyra Banks Show and did a knock out job. She recently said that Celine Dion was an inspiration for her when making the album. You can truly hear it in this performance. She includes a nice high Celine\Whitney note at the end that is not featured on the original recording. It was brilliant. Next year she will be all over the Grammy’s!

Also check out this video of Brandy this-morning!

Followed up with Long Distance. Long Distance is the 2nd single and one of my favorite Brandy ballads.

Brandy scores a perfect 10 with Long Distance

Check out the new video for Brandy’s second single “Long Distance” from her 5th studio album HUMAN due Dec 9th. In my books Brandy scores a perfect 10 with Long Distance and I really appreciate this early Christmas present from B-Rocka.
